Beyond Basketball Academy

PARENT-ATHLETE
CODE OF CONDUCT

All parents or student-athletes must sign this contract, which identifies the parent or student-athletes “code of conduct” and “financial responsibility.”

Parent Code of Conduct

  1. I will respect the coaching staff and their decisions, understanding this is competitive basketball.
  2. I will not enter the court during a game, scrimmage, or practice unless otherwise asked to do so by the coach.
  3. I will not verbally or physically abuse, confront, taunt, harass or demean a coach, student athlete, opposing student-athlete or coach, or referee at any time.
  4. If I have questions regarding playing time or playing position, I understand there must be a 24-hour cooling-off period before talking to the coach or the program manager.
  5. I understand parents cannot coach their child or other student-athletes from the sideline or anywhere else during scrimmages, practices, or games.
  6. I will follow the “chain of command” to lodge a complaint.
  7. Players in grades 8-12 should initiate contact with their coach regarding playing time.
  8. If the player-coach meeting doesn’t solve the issue, a meeting will be scheduled with the parents, player, coach, and the Beyond Basketball Academy Director.
  9. All other issues (other than playing time) should be communicated to the Customer Relationship Executive.
  10. I will not conspire with other parents to undermine the authority of any coach, the program, or the academy.
  11. I will make every effort to allow my child to attend all practices, games, tournaments, and team functions.

Student-Athlete Code of Conduct

  1. I will abide by all BBA rules and regulations.
  2. I will abide by all team rules, including good attendance, respect for teammates and adults, and maintaining a positive attitude.
  3. I will not participate in any form of bullying or sexual harassment. If proven guilty, I understand that I can get expelled from the academy and all payments will be non-refundable.
  4. Any requests to play for competing, outside academy, or clubs other than the BBA shall be forwarded to the Customer Relationship Executive and Academy Director for review. Decisions will be on a case-by case basis, weighing factors unique to each particular request.

Parent Financial Responsibility

I understand any student-athlete whose account is past due for more than 5 days will be removed from their team and will not be allowed to participate in practices or games. I understand the student-athlete will be ineligible to participate in games or practices until his/her account is brought into good standing.

Communication

The Beyond Basketball Academy encourages open communication.

  • If a parent needs clarification on an issue, please contact the Customer Relationship Executive for clarification.
  • If a parent has a concern, please wait 24 hours before discussing the issue.
  • If not satisfied with concerns being addressed, concerns should be discussed with the Customer Relationship Manager.
  • Treat each Customer Relationship Executive or Coach with respect, they are there just to help and solve problems.
